Verma to sue US$ 100 million against a Maldivian newspaper for publishing false, unnecessary and objectionable content.
Billionaire Industrialist Abhishek Verma again made headlines. The controversy raised by a Maldivian newspaper ‘The Maldives Report’, in a newsarticle published on 2 March came to limelight for questioning Verma and his wife meeting with the former President of the Maldives Nasheed during his India visit in February 2019.
Abhishek Verma and his wife Anca Verma met former President who is the Chairman of Maldivian Democratic Party Nasheed on 14th February in New Delhi. The meeting was a private one so the news was not widely publicised, but the rogue Maldivian news outfit tried to light fire by publishing unclaimed and non-sensible facts mentioning Verma and Nasheed and indulged in character assassination.
Abhishek Verma was exonerated in corruption and money laundering cases two years back by the Indian courts as not a single allegation was proved against him.
Olialia World, European multinational giant owned by industrialist Abhishek Verma and his wife Anca Verma, has invested billions of projects including hospitality, aviation, medical, tourism in the Maldives.
According to sources close to Verma, he has consulted with his legal advisors and all set to take strict legal action against the editor and correspondents of The Maldives Report, if they do not offer a public apology and remove the post from their website within 3 days.
